Food Safety Facts:
Food safety has always been a major focus in the produce
industry. Now, more than ever, food safety practices need
to take center stage. Welch's understands this and works
with the third party experts at Scientific Certification
Systems (SCS). Together, we have developed food safety
practices that are tailored to the needs of the fresh grape
industry. Welch's® grapes must meet the highest level of
industry standards, ensuring you get the very best grapes
from the entire crop!
Selection Tips:
In the store, look for grape bunches that are well colored
with plump berries well attached to the stems. Store purchased
grapes should be ripe and ready to eat; they will not continue
to ripen after they have been picked from the vine.
Storage Tips:
When you get home from the store with your Welch's® Fresh
Grapes, simply store them in your refrigerator without
washing until you are ready to eat them. As with any fresh
produce, you should always rinse your Welch's® Fresh Grapes
before consuming them. Grapes should keep for about seven
days in 30-40°F.
